General Contest Rules
1. Introduction
1.1 CityBuildingContests.net provides a framework which enables and expects
contestants to participate in city building contests for fun, the competitive
challenge, and the opportunity to measure their skills against other players
in a spirit of fair play.
1.2 These rules (and the accompanying games features pages) are necessary,
therefore, to provide a level playing field for the benefit of all who
compete in these competitions and they enable CBC to take appropriate
action if necessary.
2. Game Features
2.1On the pages accessed from the links below, you will find the definitive
list of currently banned game features, as well as a more-or-less comprehensive
list of the known but permitted game features. The rules on any features
may be amended within the specific game rules.
Caesar 3 | Pharaoh
& Cleopatra | Zeus & Poseidon
| Emperor
2.2 The games features pages form part of, and should be read in conjunction
with, this General Rules page.
3. Game Saves
You should save your game at the end of every game year. You do not need
to submit these saves with your entry, but must make them available should
they be requested during judging.
4. Messages
You may not delete any of the messages you receive during the game, however trivial their subject.
5. Cheat Codes
You may not use cheat codes, modify starting files with any programme other than the relevant game, or edit the Model files. We have ways of finding out ...
6. Contest Difficulty
6.1 Contests are split into two divisions, Easy and Hard, which are played
at the corresponding difficulty levels (for Zeus and Poseidon, these are
Mortal and Titan, respectively). You may not change the difficulty level
during the game, nor may you compete in both divisions of the same contest.
6.2 The Easy difficulty level is primarily aimed at giving novice and
new players a real chance to win a competition. Competitors who have been
successful with two wins at Easy difficulty contests in a particular game
category (Caesar 3, Pharaoh/Cleopatra, or Zeus/Poseidon) must move up
to Hard difficulty.
7. Special in-game effects
7.1 In Caesar III, you must keep the Gods Effects turned on all of the
time.
7.2 Players with Cleopatra may also compete in Pharaoh contests, but
may not use any Cleopatra-specific features (these are new beautification
options and the Pyramid Speedup Blessing) unless specifically permitted
by the contests rules.
8. Game Discussion
8.1 If considered appropriate, a member of the CBC staff will start a
'game in progress' discussion thread on the forum during the period of
the game in which technical questions about that game may be raised.
8.2 No discussion (by any medium) of your entry, for example, your
results or any aspect of your strategy, may take place until the contest
has closed and the official discussion thread has been opened by a CBC
member of staff.
9. Game Version
9.1 You must use the most up-to-date version of the game available.
9.2 For Caesar 3 contests, the Caesar 3 Assignment Editor must also be
installed. This may also be found at: Downloads
for C3
10. Judging
The decision of the CBC staff in any competition is final and will be
binding on any and every player. Failure to respect decisions of the CBC
staff may render a player liable to expulsion from future contests and
the CBC website.
11. Disqualification
11.1 Failure to abide by the contest rules will, naturally, result in
disqualification.
11.2 Persistent offenders (that is, players who have been found to contravene
the rules more than once) may also be barred from future contests and
from the CBC website.
11.3 CBC reserves the right to take into consideration any disciplinary
action taken against a player on any other contest game website.

You may upload your contest submissions here using the form below. Please

final.
Both the saved game within the archive and the .zip archive itself should
