Contest 65: Clockwork: A Poseidon Speed Contest

Welcome to the contest pages for Contest 65: Clockwork. This is a Poseidon speed contest, part of the City Building World Championships. It may be played only with Poseidon V2.1. Use the link below to download the starting position:

Clockwork (Easy-Mortal)

Clockwork (Hard-Titan)
files are in an zip format

After downloading, players should run the Unzip program, and follow the on screen instructions. When prompted, choose to extract the archive to the directory in which Zeus.exe is located (by default C:\Impressions Games\Zeus\save\).

Please select Mortal (Easy) or Titan (Hard) as per your level on the adventure loading screen.

Story

Poseidon was a bit bored and started tossing around some stones and dirt. This resulted in a typical circular group of islands, sort of a clock. He was pleased with the endresult but felt it needed a finishing touch. Something to honour the gods and to symbolise that everything evolves around them.

This is where you come in. He wants you to build a Pyramid of the Pantheon on the central island. Poseidon has provided you with all the materials you could need, so it should be easy to finish it quickly.

Note that Hermes also liked this island group, but as a nice new habitat for his pet, the Minotaur. As he is running around on the exact spot you need to build your Pyramid, you will have to deal with it. You can summon Thesseus to do the job for you, but this solution might upset Hermes and there is no telling what he might do!

Rules

All entries must meet the following completion criteria at the time of submission:

  • Completed Pyramid of the Pantheon on the central island of the map

The valid entries will then be separated according to the following winning criteria:

  1. Fastest time to complete pyramid
  2. Amount of drachmas in the treasury

Designer's Notes

In this scenario there are two friendly cities, willing to trade and you have one jealous rival, Yehm. This rival is very displeased with the fact that Poseidon has choosen you for this prestigious task. He will send soldiers to your city on a regular basis to disrupt your activities. Note that his invasions will always take place on the same island. If you don’t use that island there is no need to fight.

The difference between the Titan and Mortal version is the amount of money, the number and frequency of the invasions and the size of the islands.

The Sculptor was created by Henrium, and beta tested by Aditya and Slcha.

This contest will close at 11PM EST (US), on Tuesday, November 30th. Please note the date!!!!

This contest has ended.
