< I'm building a city at Abedju, and I've built enough fishing wharves to fill my granaries, so the wharf cart pushers end up just sitting there waiting to take the fish somewhere. So I decide to export fish and make a little money. I set a storage yard to accept fish, and sure enough the cart pushers dump their load, the caravan buys the fish and I make a little money. However, even when the granaries start to empty, the cart pushers still bring their load to the storage yards, and my people start to starve. I set a granary to 'get' fish, but then he spends all day going back and forth when it would be more efficient for the wharf cart pushers to dump their load in the granary, then take the excess to the storage yard. I end up turning fish export on to get rid of the extra, then turning it off so my people don't starve. What a pain! Do I not have something set right?

Storage Yards take priority over Granaries. This was done to help you when you needed to stockpile food for a request. So if you allow a Storage Yard to accept food then your cart pushers will want to bring food to the Storage Yard until there is no more room. Basically, you should just set the Storage Yard to fill up to 1/4 (or 1/2 or 3/4), however much room is needed to store your extra food. That way your cart pushers will only bring the required amount to the Storage Yard and then concentrate on the Granary.
