Okay, one more nooby-question and I'll try to be able to stand on my own two feet :D

I'm doing an open play mission, on one of the grand canal maps. I try to build the canal but I can't find the laborer's camp in the structures available. Probabaly something silly again, but I can't proceed this way.

This brings me to my second question: Who decides whether some structures are available during missions and some are not? For example: certain crops and farms, some orchard cheds, industry structures like melters and different monuments.
And what have climate and age to do with it?

I think in these missions you can´t build the canal. The developer of the missions has the right to decides what for buildings are available in the mission.

Koen, do you have the patch installed? Without patch it would not be possible to have monuments in any open play mission anyway. I would assume that with the patch, choosing the desired monument when loading the map, all required structures would be automatically available for building? Please tell which map you use, and what the settings are, and the random seed (hopefully you typed some number here!) - with that the mission should be perfectly reproducable, so we could have a look...

I do have the patch installed, but I didn't fill in random seed, 'cause I didn't know what that meant :oops:
What does that option define?

The random seed controls the random numbers used to generate settings for the game, like which goods will be available for trade, maybe prices, stuff like that. If you choose random map, it would also control which map is selected. So, if you type the random seed, the game will be perfectly reproducable, not only on your own system. And, if some of the settings do not work well, choosing a different seed might help also!

Ich habe die erste Kanal karte gemacht, level: Einfach (level 2/5)
random seed: weltmeister.

Ich denke es liegt an die Karte, nicht mehr an denken..

Nur eine Frage noch: was hängt ab von das Zeitalter? Industrie?
