Welcome and Announcements Thread
Welcome to this C3 team event. We hope above all things that you have an
enjoyable experience with this contest. There are five teams so you have a lot of competition. Remember that you must post everything dealing with the contest and the contest map here in this forum. No emails between yourselves and no swapping of map saves. Feel free to use this forum however you like and as much as you need. The only people that can access it are your team and the members of the design team. If you have any questions relating to the contest or the map please post them in this thread so we can check them out easier. So please leave this starting thread for questions relating to the game or anouncements from the design team. Please do not post your questions at CBC main forum as you may gain an advantage over the other teams by something you learn. And you don't need to share that until after the contest is over. We will share anything with all teams that we feel needs to be shared. Please remember also that although this is a private forum, after the contest is over it will become a public record so post nothing that you don't mind everyone reading. Please have fun and enjoy this unique experience. All the best and may the best C3 players win. |

Hi all. Talk about dumb! I saw this forum listed last night and thought 'ah, they are testing the team forums. I won't look, it is probably private.' I'll try to be a little smarter for the competition. Glad to see you Drace, DB and Dufistus.

:x I already ran into a wee problem. Maybe someone has seen it before. I downloaded the scenario this evening and played a couple of years. However, I reached a point where no immigrants were entering the board. My people idolized me as a god and there were no enemies on the map. My advisor said I was getting "'x' immmigrants last month" but no wagons were entering the map and I had vacant lots waiting to be populated. However, when I right-clicked on the entrance some immigrants "spoke."
Another note: the downloaded map had the difficulty set to "easy" - shouldn't it be set to "normal?"

DB, in C3 you set the difficulty before loading the game. If you had it set on easy for the last game you played then it would still be on easy once you load the contest map. Best thing to do is turn on the game , load something else, set difficullty to normal and then load highway contest.
As to the other you and your team will have to work that out. |

I just down-loaded the map and haven't checked it out too well but there's no shortage of building space!
D.B., I know one situation where immigration will cease. If buildings other than housing are surrounded by other structures and housing such that there is no path to the outside, there is no "road to Rome" warning, but no more immigrants will enter. Well I'll sleep on this one and hope for some magical insight. :? |

It's probably because I mucked up the area near the English Channel with a bunch of aquaducts trying to get water from a reservoir there. I finally found a better site about half way up the river closest to the housing plain. There's a tiny pass through the mountains for the aquaducts.
However, I put a tent site at the intersection of the roads near the soon-to-be dock area but can't get anyone to move there. Meanwhile my housing block is filling up just fine.

I figured that I'd at least send in the one map where I got the PR up to 45 just in case my system - or the network craps out on me in the next couple of weeks. However, it does give us a "starting point."

I am, too; but nothing I've tried gets much of an improvement. There's still a few days left and we haven't heard from Dufistus. Lots of plans; but no actual "final score" for his methodology. I do wish that we could hear from Drace soon.
