Some feedback needed from city building veterans
Hi again, a loong time ago I told you that I'm working on a browser based MMO similar to NO, and while it's not quite yet out (in a few weeks a closed beta will be online) I could use some feedback regarding the homepage of the game.
So I have a few questions to ask you: 1. What's your initial feeling when you see the page? 2. Does it look too spartan? 3. Do you find the texts too verbose? Or perhaps more details are better? 4. Based on descriptions and screenshots do you understand what the game is all about? 5. Does this homepage makes you want to try the game? The homepage is not functional yet. This is the link http://www.xemerys.com/home.html |

Oh my. Looks good, and really promising. Count me in for the beta please, I'd like to try this. Well, and see how this plays when I'm not online all day and night, and try to play peasefully not as a warmonger.
The facebook thing doesn't work... yet? |

Looks great. I'm personaly not into games with magic in them [ so probably won't play it ] but the rest of it looks awesome. I wish you all the best with this.

Thanks for your replies. I will have a beta version available as soon as possible since some things can't be tested properly with just a handful of people.
Caesar, I think that if you'll give it a try, you might find that spells are just a pretext to combine effects in Xemerys . In CoTN you had edicts, is kinda the same thing. The game is very much an economic strategy, no RPG-in here. |

Yeah, COTN was the one game I don't like in the series. But keep us in touch. You'll probably find the best betas on the planet here.

Not a typo
"Are you tired of going to work everyday?" In that sense, perhaps a synonym could be better but I don't know any. |

The "tired of" part seems to confuses people, so I removed it.

I'm happy to announce you that Xemerys Wiki and Community Forum are up and running.
Not a comprehensive Wiki at the moment but I think it has enough information to help the new players. |

[\Quote] Although I understand why these time limits exist they seem a bit harsh to me. For example many people take a two week holiday in the summer and either don't want to or don't have access to a computer / net connection. Would 3 weeks be better or give people the option to deliberately "freeze" there city for a set time, say up to a month. I can see people who have worked hard on a city being very annoyed to find they have to start again because they took a holiday, probably to the extent they wouldn't bother to play again. |

I'm still playing Tribal Wars and I think they delete your account after a month of inactivity. Don't think they freeze accounts though.

Let me clarify a bit what frozen means When you become inactive after 2 days, your city is put in an automated vacation mode. This is for both server's and player's protection. You don't want to comeback after 4 days and see the game over screen. If you take a short holiday, just activate manually the vacation mode and you're safe
While frozen nothing is produced, nothing is consumed. Your city gets deleted only after 2 weeks. When put manually in vacation mode, you don't have to worry about deletion for a long time . Hope it's more clear now. I've already modified the forum post with the clarification. |

Today I came back to my city to find it almost bankrupt. I left it in the greens on saturday or sunday (not sure), so something happended that increased some costs (?) and/or decreased my income. Even with most of my industry de-staffed, I can't come back into profitability.
This is the kind of inexplicable, seemingly random occurance which drives me completely off this game. In fact, it tells me that I'll thrown in a few days if I don't become profitable again... which I have no means to do. |

Hi Tobing,
a few tips to come back into the greens:
And most important: after 4 hours: cast "Golden Goose" again Good luck
