Oxbow Lake: Introduction

Welcome to the contest pages for Contest 3: Oxbow Lake. This is a Caesar III contest and may be played with any version of Caesar 3, provided you have installed the Assignment Editor. However, we recommend you play with Caesar 3 V1.0.1.0.

Use the links below to download the starting positions:

Click here to Download for Easy Difficulty
Click here to Download for Hard Difficulty
files are in zip archives

After downloading, decompress the file (using, e.g. PowerArchiver or Winzip) and put the decompressed file into your root Caesar III directory (by default C:\Sierra\Caesar3\). To play it, start the game, click the "Load Saved Game" button, and select Oxbow Lake Easy or Oxbow Lake Hard, depending on your difficulty level.

Please note that your game difficulty level must be set to your chosen rank BEFORE starting the map. If you do not play in the chosen category normally, load another saved game prior entering the contest's one, and choose the Difficulty level there. Only later, when you have set the difficulty according to your level, should you load the contest's map. Be aware that you need to have the Caesar III map editor installed prior to playing this map. If you do not have it installed, your city and the Empire Map will not look the way as intended, and hence your submission may be invalid.

Oxbow Lake was created by Caesar Alan and beta tested byJaguar and Nimlot Persson.
