Story

Dear governor, you have proved a little of a liability to Caesar. Therefore you will be placed in a province far removed from Rome's influence. Stories abound of a rich land far away that can only be reached by a long sea voyage though a dangerous passage. Or maybe you can build a bridge from the mainland to it, if you can educate the natives to let you.

There are possibilities to make money here although it may take you a while to encourage workers to emigrate that far away. Still you will be forced to pay them wages above Rome's own and in return you may tax them a little higher. Don't come back unless you bring many denarii's to fill Rome's coffers. Maybe as well you can bring back some of the natives wealth if you can civilize them first. Apparently there are quite a few of them. Maybe Caesar will even allow you some back up money if you run out but don't count on it. I wish you well.

Rules

Designer's Notes

  • The wage rate and tax rate are fixed. Do not change them. Wage and tax manipulation are not permitted in this contest.
  • This is a peaceful contest. Unless you upset Mars or the natives you should be okay.
  • Peace is set at 100 to stop anyone from reaching victory any earlier than 84 months time.
  • Favor can be anything you like.
  • The requests can be met or not. Its up to you.
  • All ratings can be anything you wish. Obviously in an economic contest the more the tax income the better so you will want some rich housing.
  • The contest finishes in 84 months. You may submit an entry at any time although the longer you play the more you should earn.
  • A tip for novice players. Don't forget natives love to buy Roman trinkets.
    Have fun.
