Story
Governor, your final mission in this Imperial Assessment
is a real mission for the glory and wealth of Rome. The Roman Legions have won many conquests
in the Germanic regions, and buried beneath a Governors
Palace in the forests of deepest
darkest Dacia
lie the spoils of victory- a massive trove of gold, treasure, cash and
huge stores of food. Several Roman legions under the command of a caretaker
military lieutenant guard the region but word of its whereabouts has reached
our enemies, and we must immediately bolster the defense of the location.
The full force of the Roman army has been ordered
to the area to supervise relocation of the loot to Rome,
but until such time as they arrive, you must defend Rome’s property and citizens against any and
all threats. These relief legions will require a goodly supply of weapons
when they arrive.
All defensive structures that Rome possesses are available to you. Money
is no object in this mission, as the losses if you fail are far greater
than even you could possibly spend.

Designer's Notes
This mission has a duration
of 24 months. Many invasions are scheduled for the second year. There
are no imperial requests. Easy difficulty gets smaller invasions and faster
immigration. Numbers of soldiers will be as reported by the Military Advisor.
All please note that CBC rules stipulate that forts
may hold no more than 16 soldiers. Forts, rather than individual soldiers,
are either academy trained or not academy trained. If a fort is indicated
as academy trained all its soldiers are regarded as academy trained.
This mission is not intended to replicate the battle
that took place at Sarmizegetusa in 105AD.
The Battle of Sarmizegetusa is a Caesar III contest map. It was
designed by goonsquad and was tested by Joshofet.
In this series of contests the beta tester/s will be permitted to enter
at Hard difficulty.
This contest will close at 11PM EST (US), on Sunday, 28th January,
2007. Please note the date!!!
